To Know Your Name
I am sitting here, thinking I would like to know your name
I am sitting here, pondering if you feel somewhat the same
Trying not to stare, and yet shyly glancing over you way
Wanting to start a conversation, but having nothing to say
Teenage fears are strong, failure is impossible to face
You seem miles away, though we are in the same place
I imagine us talking, and then walking hand in hand
Going on picnics in the park; at the beach in the sand
Parties and movies, going on a date for a bite to eat
But none of these things can happen, if we never meet
Time is passing quickly, and soon it will be far too late
I may never have the courage for our meeting to be fate
I am sitting here, pondering if you feel somewhat the same
I am sitting here, thinking I would like to know your name
